About

My name is Rebecca Lewis, and I have worked with computers since 1994, as sort of a Jane of all trades.  I began with databases in 1996, touching many platforms, to include Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Access, Sybase, Paradox, MySQL and Postgresql.  In 1998 I began targeting only Microsoft SQL Server, and I haven't looked back.

I have tremendous experience, with more than 16 years in the electronic trading industry, focused heavily on OLTP high availability and performance, design and implementation of VLDB's, data partitioning, external storage arrays (EMC, NetApp), and SSDs (solid state disks) such as Fusion-IO.

In Oct 2013, after 16 years in the corporate SQL Server world, I finally began to pursue my dream of independent SQL Server consulting (see here).  I provide Remote and Onsite DBA support, with flexible pricing and customizable service level agreements.  This support can be provided on a month-to-month basis, or on-demand.  If you are having problems with SQL Server, be it performance, maintenance, problematic tSQL -- or maybe you're not even sure what the problem is -- let sqlfingers be your DBA.  You will not be disappointed.

As you can see, the website is continually changing.  The SQL is all mine, but I am very grateful for, and must accredit my friend, Christopher Rizzo, for his assistance with the web design.  Everything you see is free.  I provide information and code examples for use with SQL Server.  If you have any questions (or see any errors), please just send me an email.

I look forward to working with you.

Rebecca
